The Last Flight League: Pub Feeling, Sudden Bull—and a nickname for Leon Weber?

Published on

From the capital to the Lower Rhine. From the Final Four stage to the place where darts players from various generations have chased their first ‘One Hundred and Eighty’: following the conclusion of Season 1 in June, the entertainment darts league The Last Flight, together with its partner BEAZD, is making plans for the next season. First stop: Take’s Gaming Bar, Krefeld!

The number plates in Krefeld’s Kronprinzenviertel give a clue: this Sunday afternoon, there’s clearly more going on than just the locals’ usual midday pint. KR. VIE. MG. A NE in between, a KLE further back. Then an E behind a DU, whose driver managed to snag a free space after a fair bit of manoeuvring.

The darts community – with varying degrees of luck in finding a parking space – made its way to the ‘Pub Edition’ of The Last Flight. Spoiler: One BEAZD player went home with a handful of ideas for a nickname…

How did the Pub Edition of The Last Flight go?

•    180 to 200 fans at Take’s Gaming Bar
•    around 3,000 viewers on the official Twitch stream
•    A programme comprising a panel discussion, a meet-and-greet and matches played according to TLF rules

Gaude or Gude? PDC trio around Leon Weber in the panel talk

Following a warm-up session, during which groups of eight or ten had taken turns playing on the boards, The Last Flight Livestream kicked off with a panel discussion featuring three PDC professionals and several content creators. The walk-on songs? A must-have here too, and they really got the crowd going. Content creator Bela ‘Double Dipper’ Schugmann, in particular, had the crowd in stitches with ‘Bella Napoli’.

An overview of all participants:

•    Leon Weber (#87 PDC)
•    Max ‘Maximiser’ Hopp (#68 PDC)
•    Gabriel ‘German Giant’ Clemens (#48 PDC)
•    Sarah ‘Sapphire’ Milkowski (darts player and content creator)
•    Bela ‘Double Dipper’ Schugmann (winner of the first TLF season)
•    Fabian ‘Roughy’ Dippold (Host)

You can watch the replay of the stream here.

Leon Weber on…

…his debut at a PDC tournament: “That was at the European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen in 2025. In the first round, I beat Ryan Joyce 6–3 and had two high finishes of 112 and 156 points.”

…his 9-dart finish at the Players Championship event in Leicester: “No one can ever take that experience away from me. It’s an amazing feeling to have it on video too. I’ve watched it an incredible number of times to this day – I reckon it’s in the five figures.”

…his content on social media: “I really enjoy it, especially when it comes to those crazy challenges with other players or creators. I’ve also recently started my own TikTok channel (@leonweber.darts).”

…an entertainment darts league: “I really like the approach – or rather, the adaptations – of football reality TV formats that combine sport and entertainment. I think it will help darts become even more popular in Germany.”

What is the nickname of professional darts player Leon Weber?

As of September 2026, professional darts player Leon Weber does not yet have an official nickname. During the ‘Pub Edition’ of The Last Flight, Max Hopp called on the community and chat room for suggestions – the names under discussion were ‘Leon the Lion’, ‘The Web’, ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Leonidas’. Leon Weber himself added that ‘Leon – the Professional’, based on the cult film of the same name from 1995, would be a great alternative.

The Last Flight winner: Spectator shines alongside Bela

Off the sofa and onto the BEAZD board: Creators and TLF players Bela and Sandy went head-to-head, each with a spectator from the audience. Playing alongside the reigning The Last Flight champion, Andreas produced some impressive shots. After taking a 1–0 lead (format: best of 3, 501, double out), the team used the popular BEAZD Gamebreaker ‘Sudden Bull’ to decide the match.

“I’d have liked to have hit the bullseye too, but that’s what your partner’s for,” quipped Andreas, and received a BEAZD jersey signed by the BEAZD top stars Martin Schindler, Krzysztof Ratajski, Niko Springer, Cristo Reyes, Arno Merk, Cor Dekker and Rusty-Jake Rodriguez as his prize. “It’ll get a very special place and be hung up,” said the winner, beaming from ear to ear.

What are the game-breakers in The Last Flight?

Gamebreakers are used as standard in the second leg of The Last Flight matches and function as special rules that alter the usual format. ‘Sudden Bull’ – presented by BEAZD – is one of nine Gamebreakers, whereby a player – regardless of their remaining points – immediately wins the leg with a hit on the bullseye. This popular special mode produced a memorable leg in the first season, which Bela won with a 1-darter.

German Darts League: What’s next for The Last Flight?

Following Season 1, founder and league director Marco Niemann, together with partners such as BEAZD, is planning the next instalment of The Last Flight. Ideas are being explored both for the regular league format for spring 2027 and for supplementary community events in the run-up to it.

Marco Niemann on the partnership with BEAZD: “Our partnership is based on trust, shared values and the belief that we can take the sport of darts forward in a modern way. BEAZD is a key component and partner that stands for quality. From experienced players to those taking their first steps in the sport, we have been able to provide people with high-quality equipment, thereby helping them to enjoy the sport right from the start.”
